First off this is a well made documentary, the tone is hopeful and the survivors are treated respectfully. The timeline is well established and the interviews relevant to telling the story. The subject matter is heartbreaking, but now that this is out in the open, hopefully the survivors can heal and the investigations continue.
Difficult to watch
watching all these old clips of gymnastics on the Olympics and then listening to the ladies discuss their experiences, has changed my perspective. I'll probably never ever watch another Olympics game at all the rest of my life; gymnastics especially.
This is another good netflix documentary on a really troubling subject. If you want to see how evil can live amongst us, answering to know one and basically doing what he pleases then watch this. Really disturbing how Larry Nassar was allowed to continue for as long as he did, and for me, the attempted covering up and vouching for him was one of the worst parts of this story. It could/should have been stopped so much earlier. One can only imagine how many girls could have been saved from this monster. The powers at be should be ashamed and held accountable for their actions. Steve Penny pleading the fifth amendment made my blood boil! Same tactic as Jeffery Epstein. Like the prosecutor says at the end, there is a missing piece to this puzzle and that is charges against those that knew. Well done netflix for shining a light on these despicable creatures. And the survivors of this story were all so brave it brought a tear to my eye.
